The company KOCEVAR & THERMOTRON d.o.o., with the original name ELEKTROMEHANIKA -VARILNA TEHNIKA, was found in the year of 1970, when a perspective engineer, now the owner and the director of the company Mr. Kočevar, with a small investment has began with the development and construction of a transformer and the first inverter projection welding machine.
Because in Slovenia, this branch was not developed yet, the market inquired such large quantities of spot welding machines, that in a few years the company grew into, for the socialist times, a very large private firm with 15 employees. In 1984 the company began producing first machine for capacitor welding, the machines for resistance welding were improved from year to year.
After the ruin of Yugoslavia, almost 90% of the market was lost, so the company turned to the western markets.The loss of the ex Yugoslavian market put the company in the hardest financial position in the last 12 years of existence. After two years of searching new markets, the firm got on its own, for now with a low production, but with a greater accent on quality of the components and the functionality of the machine. The development of the market brought out the first machine for seam welding machine and then the machine for butt-flash welding.
The presence on a large market was crucial for existence of a small company, like ours, it demanded production of more and more “¸for purpose designed machines” for resistance welding, that why the company, beside the standard production, began producing large machines resistance welding and capacitor welding machines on special inquiries, which brought us new customers, expanded our market and enabled us, that the name of our company in the production of resistance welding technics became known in Europe.
By the end of this millenium, our developing department is pointing out especially with security at work with our resistance and capacitor welding, these two should be our trademark in the next century. New machines produced in company, KOČEVAR & THERMOTRON, are a composition of high quality machine components precisely produced with newest technology of welding controllers and also multi welding machines and highly complicated robot-controlled machine services.
